Production manager – landscape design/build

Location: Dayton, Maryland (Howard County)
Job Type: Full Time, Exempt
Pay Range: $65,000 – $85,000
Schedule: Monday – Friday (weekends as necessary)

Absolute Landscapes is looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead the field execution of our landscape design/build projects.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands landscape construction, enjoys developing field teams, and knows how to keep multiple projects organized, productive, and moving forward.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan and coordinate labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and project schedules.
  • Make sure projects are fully prepared before crews arrive on site.
  • Assign and support crews and field leaders based on project needs.
  • Lead project kickoffs and clearly communicate scope, schedule, safety, and quality expectations.
  • Visit active jobsites to monitor progress, solve problems, and maintain our standards.
  • Track labor, materials, and production against project budgets.
  • Identify schedule, scope, quality, or budget concerns early and take action.
  • Coordinate deliveries, equipment, subcontractors, inspections, and jobsite logistics.
  • Keep project information, schedules, notes, and documentation current in LMN.
  • Work closely with Project Management, Design, Estimating, field teams, vendors, and subcontractors.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in landscape construction, production management, project coordination, or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of landscape and hardscape construction, planting, grading, drainage, and jobsite logistics.
  • Ability to read landscape plans, estimates, scopes, and construction details.
  • Experience managing crews, schedules, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Understanding of labor efficiency, job budgets, and field productivity.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt as conditions change.
  • Experience with LMN or similar landscape management software is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between the office, vendors, and jobsites.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT certification.
