We work with many commercial customers who tend to think that commercial landscape is “plant and forget.” But remember that whatever you are placing is a living plant and will need care, water, fertilizer, and more. There are some low-maintenance commercial landscaping options, and if that’s what you’re looking for, we can certainly handle that. But, for all other types, including grass, your commercial landscaping is going to be a year-round enterprise.
- Early spring fertilizing and preparation. If you want the lush landscaping that will last throughout the season into fall, then your area must be prepared correctly. This includes cleaning the area, replacing nutrients in the soil, clearing any weed growth, and ensuring the irrigation is working correctly.
- Summer. Now is the time to maintain the commercial landscaping that was properly prepared for months ago. All that fertilizer and irrigation allows lush growth, but it also can produce weed growth. Besides weed control, you’ll also need to maintain the plants, bushes, and trees.
- Fall. This is a time for controlling and maintaining the current plants as well as getting ready for winter. We’ll look for any branches that could fall due to heavy snowfall or other inclement weather. We’ll also clean and prune as much as needed to get a jump on spring preparations.
- Winter. Ok, there’s not much commercial landscaping maintainance during the winter. But, we are a commercial snow removal company, so we can be the year-round solution to all your commercial landscaping and maintenance needs.
This blog is in no way exhaustive of all the commercial landscaping needs you’ll have all year. Much of the maintenance will depend on the type of landscaping you choose. Some of our clients want landscaping that is the same throughout the season with minimal maintenance. Others like to celebrate the different seasons with plants that showcase the changes. Whatever you are looking for in your commercial landscaping, know that Absolute Landscape and Turf Services, Inc. can handle your commercial landscaping needs throughout Howard County, Sykesville, West Friendship, Ellicott City, Glenwood, MD, and Glenelg.
